RSVP is a national service program that engages people 55 and older in volunteer service to meet important needs in the community. The program aims to offer a high quality volunteer experience that will enrich the lives of volunteers.
RSVP provides opportunities for community service in Medina County through partnerships with Cornerstone Wellness and Medina Metropolitan Housing Authority. Service opportunities in Medina County include:
· Prevention Bingo, a program to inform older adults of their risk of substance abuse
· Smart Eaters meal planning program, to teach chronically ill and disabled adults about healthy eating choices for healthy aging.
· A mentor program to teach older adults about life skills for increased involvement within their community.
Upon enrollment, volunteers will be provided with limited liability insurance, proper orientation and training, support, supervision, and recognition for their service
RSVP Volunteer Requirements:
· Must be 55 or older
· Must be willing to serve on a regular basis
· Must reside in or near the community (Medina County or surrounding county)
Additional requirements are dependent upon specific volunteer activities
