Medina Food Bank/Feeding Medina County Initiative

We Support Advocates for Ohio
This project is the result of the efforts of grass roots organizations: the Coalition of Medina County Food Pantries and The Hunger Task force. Commissioner Pat Geissman has been instrumental in seeking a non-profit organization to coordinate county wide efforts to increase food availability to Medina County food pantries and to feed more of Medina's most vulnerable citizens. Cornerstone Wellness Center is working closely with the Medina National Guard Armory and the Hunger Task Force to make more food available to the county pantries, who regularly provide food and needed items to those in need across the county. Goals for the future include raising funds to purchase a delivery vehicle, repair donated refrigeration units to be able to provide perishable items to the pantries, and to establish a central website to coordinate donations and deliveries, organize volunteers, provide community updates about pantry needs, and to distribute monthly articles regarding basic needs and resiliency in times of difficulty. Volunteers may serve in a variety of capacities from setting up inventory tracking systems to delivering food.
